The farm Vaalvlei was established as a wine farm near Stanford in 2005. The vines grow on sandstone and koffieklip soils. Walker Bay can be seen from the vineyards. This lends a cool maritime climate to the area and makes the production of elegant white wines and classical red wines possible. Vaalvlei is a family wine farm, where the Terblanche family strive to produce excellent wines. We are sensitive to nature and protect the indigenous plants, birds and the 13 frog species that occur in our wetland. We also have farm cottage accommodation. Guests can relax, enjoy the beautiful surroundings and do fly fishing. Our logo (click to view)
is the endangered Western Leopard Toad which is a welcome resident on our farm. We have a permanent audio visual display of our local frogs in our wine tasting room.
